The barn is an iconic piece of Canada's architectural history and a significant part of rural Canadian culture. As time passes these magnificent buildings continue to fall apart and are quickly disappearing. These cast aluminum barn boards stand for the collapsed barn structures that are found within the Canadian landscape.

The weathered, aged and split surface holds the history and life of the barn. This sculpture is the beginning of a project based on an artistic approach to an archeological investigation, that will include the documentation and a nostalgic re-creation of a barn and the objects within it. A look into the history of where the original barn boards were taken from - New Brunswick, East Coast of Canada.
