“I always wanted a crow as a pet. I love the way they look- black silhouettes wherever they are. You see them all over the New Brunswick landscape. When I started this body of work I used many references of home. The crow lends itself well to my style of work because of the blocks of encaustic colour, they make a natural choice of pattern and their shapes are really interesting.” - Ryan Livingstone
